How long does it take to set up my voice?

About 60s. You'll read a short passage aloud in the app so we can capture how you sound. Once that's done, every story in the library is available in your voice — you only record once.

Where is my voice recording stored, and can I delete it?

Your original recording isn't stored on our servers at all — it passes straight through to Fish Audio, our voice synthesis provider, who create the voice model used to narrate your stories. Fish Audio have confirmed in writing that they don't train their models on customer data by default, and we never sell or share your voice with anyone else. You can delete your voice model at any time by deleting your account in Settings, which removes it from Fish Audio's servers immediately.

Does it actually sound like me?

Yes. Most parents are surprised by how close it is. It captures your accent, your pace, your tone — the things that make your voice recognisable to your child. It won't sound like a robot reading a script.

Can my child use it without me?

Once your voice is set up, stories play with a single tap. There's nothing complicated to navigate, so children can pick a story themselves if you're happy for them to. You stay in control of what's in their library.
